First No-KYC Monero Purchase
Detailed guide: Bitcoin to Monero with Cake Wallet. No registration, no identity verification.
$ cat requirements.txt
- Smartphone with Cake Wallet installed
- Bitcoin (any amount, min. about 0.001 BTC)
- 15-30 minutes time
- Internet connection
$ [1/6] cake_wallet --open
Open Cake Wallet on your smartphone
If not installed: App Store / Play Store / F-Droid
Create a new Monero wallet if needed
Important: Write down seed phrase securely!
$ [2/6] navigate --to exchange
Tap "Exchange" in the bottom menu
(The icon with two arrows)
You now see the swap screen
$ [3/6] select --from BTC --to XMR
Top: Tap "You send" and select Bitcoin
Bottom: "You get" should show Monero (XMR)
If not: Tap and select Monero
Exchange rate is automatically displayed
$ [4/6] amount --set 0.005
Enter the BTC amount you want to swap
Minimum usually about 0.001 BTC
Cake shows how much XMR you'll receive
Note: Exchange fee is included
$ [5/6] exchange --confirm
Tap "Exchange"
Review the summary:
- Amount to send (BTC)
- Amount to receive (XMR)
- Exchange rate
If everything looks good: Confirm
$ [6/6] btc --send --to $DISPLAYED_ADDRESS
Cake shows you a Bitcoin address
Send EXACTLY the shown BTC amount
From your Bitcoin wallet (external)
Status: "Awaiting deposit" → "Exchanging" → "Complete"
Duration: 15-30 minutes (depends on BTC network)
XMR appears automatically in your wallet!
